Bernice Worden

Bernice Worden, 91, of Iowa City, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at the Lone Tree Care Center.
Funeral services were held Oct. 17 at Gay & Ciha Funeral Service in Iowa City. Entombment followed the services at Memory Gardens Mausoleum. A memorial fund has been established in Bernice’s name. Online condolences may be sent to her family through the web at www.gayandcihacom.
Bernice Haberman was born May 6, 1920, in Kimbrae, Minn., daughter of Theodore and Katherine (Probst) Haberman. She married Alvin Worden on April 28, 1937, in Dundee, Minn. For most of her life she was at home raising her 14 children. Bernice worked for a number of years in Iowa City at Kresge’s, Mercy Hospital and the University Food Service in the residence halls.
Her local family includes sons Richard (Gloria) Worden of North Liberty and Mark (LuAnn) Worden of North Liberty.
