CCA board to see four newcomers
TIFFIN– Voters last Tuesday, Sept. 13, went to the polls to select replacements for four out-going members of the Clear Creek Amana (CCA) Board of Directors. President Tim Hennes, Kevin Kinney, Betsy Momany and Kathi Huebner decided not to run for re-election. The decisions opened up the Director District 1 and 3 seats as well as a pair of at-large seats.
Rick Hergert ran unopposed for District 1 and received 99 percent of the vote with 472. Steve Swenka was unopposed on the ballot for District 3 and garnered 97 percent of the vote, with 369. Write-in candidates totaled three in District 1 and ten in District 3.
Bob Broghammer, Terry Davis and Lisa Jiras competed for the two at-large seats, with Broghammer and Davis winning. Broghammer received 58% of the vote with 320, Davis had 43 percent with 236 while Jiras picked up 206 votes for 37 percent. Six write-in votes were cast for the at-large seats.
Voter turnout in the CCA election was 5.8 percent, only 425 voters out of 7,237 registered.
By site: 129 voted at Amana Elementary, 98 at the Oxford City Hall, 68 at the Tiffin Fire Department, 59 at the North Liberty Community Center, 54 at St. Peter’s Hall (Cosgrove), and 11 at Western Hills (Coralville). Six early votes were cast as well.
