Election early voting/absentee ballots available now
IOWA CITY– Early voting is now available for all Johnson County cities for the City General Election to be held Nov. 3 at the Johnson County Auditor’s Office. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 913 S. Dubuque St. in Iowa City.
Other early voting options include voting by mail. Absentee ballots can be requested on the Iowa Official Absentee Ballot Request Form, which is available in the Auditor’s Office or on the Auditor’s website at www.jcauditor.com. An official request form will also be provided to any Johnson County voter who sends a mailed request to the Auditor’s Office. Forms and instructions will be sent at no charge. Voters who do not wish to use the official form can send a letter requesting a ballot to the Auditor’s Office, 913 S. Dubuque St., Suite 101, Iowa City, IA 52240. Include your printed name, your Johnson County address, the address you want the absentee ballot sent to (if different than your registration address) and the date or name of the election (e.g., “City General Election”).
