Hawkeyes bowling in the Big Apple

On Wednesday, Dec. 27, the Hawkeyes will be playing the Boston College Eagles in the Pinstripe Bowl in Yankee Stadium.
The Eagles finished 7-5 with wins over Louisville (45-42), Virginia (41-10), Florida State (35-3) and Syracuse (41-14). Syracuse is the only team to beat top-ranked Clemson.
Boston College averaged 28.1 points per game and gave up 22.5.
BC averaged 224 yards rushing per game and gave up 198.4.
The Eagles averaged 182.8 yards passing and gave up almost 200 yards per game through the air.
The Eagles are led by running back A.J. Dillon, who ran for 1,432 yards (5.3 per carry) and scored 13 touchdowns.
Their quarterback Anthony Brown, passed for 1,387 yards, completing 51 percent with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
The Eagles’ leading receiver, Kobay White, caught 32 passes for 398 yards and two scores.
The Hawkeye defense gave up 19.9 points per game, an average of 142 yards per game on the ground and 213 yards per game through the air.
Iowa’s offense averaged 28 points and 142 yards rushing.
The Hawks averaged 197 yards through the air and threw for 26 touchdowns.
It should be a good matchup as Boston’s strength is running the ball, Iowa is solid at stopping the run.
