JCHT seeks sponsors for annual fundraiser
JOHNSON COUNTY– Support the Johnson County Heritage Trust (JCHT) by helping to sponsor the annual fundraiser, “Under a Cider Moon…A Celebration of Autumn,” to be held October 24, at 6 p.m. at Dick Schwab’s Celebration Barn, 2501 Sugar Bottom Road, Solon.
JCHT, founded in 1978, is a non-profit conservation land trust made up of local citizens committed to the conservation, restoration, preservation and enjoyment of locally significant natural areas.
“Under a Cider Moon” is the organizations’s most important annual fundraiser, raising over $40,000 in previous years. This year’s event, located in one of the county’s most interesting and architecturally unique venues, features entertainment by local folk band The Beggarman, locally prepared foods and refreshments from nearby wineries and brew pubs. Items for live and silent auctions will be on display, including furniture, artwork and jewelry from Iowa artists and craftsmen, vacation opportunities, dinner parties and more, donated by area merchants.
Sponsorships help defray the costs of the fundraising event, and proceeds support the maintenance and improvements of JCHT properties.
JCHT efforts are also funded through memberships, grant support and private donations. In cooperation with other groups– including the Johnson County Conservation Board, the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department, the Iowa Environmental Council, the Iowa Nature Conservancy and the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation– JCHT works to preserve Iowa’s natural heritage through protection and management of land and water with significant environmental value. Currently, JCHT maintains and preserves six local natural areas for the enjoyment and education of the public, and holds conservation easements on nine contiguous properties.
Various levels of sponsorship for “Under a Cider Moon” are still available, with benefits such as program listings, event tickets, program advertisements and signage at the event. All sponsors receive recognition in JCHT publications and at all JCHT events through the year.
Tickets to “Under A Cider Moon…A Celebration of Autumn” are currently on sale. Donations to the auction, volunteers for the event and financial donations are also welcome. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today.
