Kathy Plaht, 62, of North Liberty, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away suddenly in her husband’s arms on Oct. 16, 2012. Their love for each other was infinite. She will be forever missed by all who knew her for her positive and enthusiastic attitude. Services celebrating Kathy’s life were held Oct. 20 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by Cedar Memorial certified staff celebrant Julie Freese.
Kathy grew up on the family farm north of Keystone, the daughter of John and Darlene Meyer.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Tom, who was always at her side. She was also extremely close to her loving son, Erik. Also left behind are sister, Judy (Dan) Pieper, and their children Ashley (Jesse) Brecht and Austin Pieper; sister, Linda Ebert and her children Jackie (Ben) Seeck, Shane (Shelly) Kaiser and Zach Kaiser; and brother John (Jan) Meyer and their children Brandi Meyer, Kadi (Aaron) McVay, Jonathan Meyer and Lindsay (Justin) Meyer-Giannetto.
Kathy touched the hearts of many and will be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help others in need. She enjoyed boating, reading, home decorating, stained glass art, and spending time with her family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
