Lou Ann Martinson
Lou Ann Martinson, 59, of Williamsburg, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a long courageous battle with cancer. Memorial Service was held Feb. 20 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg, with the Rev. Richard Meyer officiating. Inurnment will be at East York Cemetery at a later date. A memorial fund has been established.
Lou Ann is survived by her four sons, Shawn (Amanda Finnegan) Martinson of Williamsburg, Corey Martinson of Williamsburg, Nick (Stephanie) Martinson of Ely, and Vince (Niki) Martinson of Williamsburg; five grandchildren; her parents, George and Rita Stahl of Williamsburg; two brothers, Gary (Judy) Stahl of Williamsburg and Stuart (Pam) Stahl of Ankeny; and five sisters, Marsha White of Williamsburg, Sheri (Garth) Wetjen of Williamsburg, Barb (Dennis) Grauer of Oxford, Lori (Tom) Beemer of Iowa City, and Michelle (Doug) Sims of Marengo.
Lou Ann Stahl was born April 15, 1954, in Williamsburg, the daughter of George and Rita (Costello) Stahl. She attended the Williamsburg schools and graduated from Williamsburg High School with the Class of 1972. Lou Ann married Duane Martinson on May 25, 1974, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Homestead. To this union four sons were born, Shawn, Corey, Nick and Vince. The couple later divorced. Lou Ann worked for many years with the family at the Raider Drive In. She also worked in the Williamsburg area. Most recently she was employed as a medical receptionist with Mercy Family Practice in Williamsburg. Lou Ann was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and the Bell Choir. She also belonged to the Williamsburg VFW Auxiliary.
