Mabel E. Hobart, 81, of Iowa City, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at the Solon Nursing Care Center.
Funeral services were held Sept. 29, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial was at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.

Mabel Eileen Lumpa was born Jan. 30, 1930, in rural Johnson County, the daughter of Fred and Alvina (Niemeyer) Lumpa. She attended country schools until high school where she attended and graduated from City High School.
She was united in marriage to Howard W. Hobart in 1953 in Kahoka, Mo. Mabel has spent most of her life in this area. She had worked for Moore Business Forms, the former Hy-Vee store on Kirkwood Avenue, and retired from the former Westinghouse, all in Iowa City.
Her local family includes son James (Beverly Jo) Hobart of Ely.
