Mountain bike trail closure at Coralville Lake

IOWA CITY – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Coralville Lake will again be closing the Mountain bike trail at the Sugar Bottom Recreation Area beginning Dec. 1. The trail will be closed to all hikers and bicyclists for the month of December. This closure coincides with the hunting permitted in this multiple use area to increase safety awareness and reduce possible conflicts.
Visitors using other areas around Coralville Lake during the hunting season are urged to take precautionary measures such as wearing blaze orange clothing.
