National champion cheer gym recognizes NL athletes
NORTH LIBERTY– Rebel Xtreme, Inc., eastern Iowa’s all-star cheerleading and tumbling/trampoline gym, finished its 2011-2012 season this spring, with a number of significant accomplishments for the program’s team and individuals.
Karly Benzing, Mallory Jones and Elizabeth Davis of the Rebel Xtreme High Flyers Tumbling and Trampoline Team all brought home state titles in the Double Mini Trampoline Event. Benzing and Jones also brought home state champion titles in the tumbling event. The Rebel Xtreme Tiny Cheer Team (3-5 year olds) CadetForce were crowned National Champions on March 25. Rebel Xtreme DeltaForce Cheer Team (10-14 year olds) participated in a national competition in Anaheim, Calif., on April 16 were they competed against some of the best teams in the nation. DeltaForce placed third on day one and second on day two in its division (.37 points behind first). Ella Gibson (nine to10 year old division) and Bailey Huston (six to seven year old division) were crowned national champion cheerleader in their old solo divisions this season as well.
“The staff of Rebel Xtreme is proud to work with these outstanding athletes. Congratulations to all of the teams and kids for an amazing season,” said owner Shauna Holm. “We are so proud to have some of the nation’s best training in our facility.”
Rebel Xtreme is a no-tryout facility in North Liberty, and the only gym in Iowa that holds eight national cheerleading champion team titles and seven individual cheerleading national titles.
