Portion of Highway 965 to be detoured for 12 weeks
NORTH LIBERTY– A section of Highway 965 north of Penn Street in North Liberty is expected to be closed to through traffic starting Wednesday, July 16, so crews can begin reconstruction of the highway, including the addition of sidewalks, recreation trails, landscaping and safety features.
During the closure, northbound and southbound Highway 965 traffic will detour west along Penn Street to Alexander Way, north to 240th Street and then back east to Highway 965. There will be temporary traffic signals at the Alexander Way and Penn Street intersection throughout the project. The closure will last about 12 weeks, depending on the weather and working conditions.
