Preparing for May groundbreaking
SOLON– Organizers continue to push forward on the progress for the Habitat for Humanity home in Solon. There are many opportunities for people to get involved with the project to be ready for groundbreaking approximately May 1. If you would like to donate money, Solon’s Habitat for Humanity now has five bird houses placed throughout Solon; one at each of the churches, one at Sam’s Main Street Market, and another at the public library set up for donation money. Habitat is also requesting for people who donate to see if any employers would match funds given to help benefit the project. Also, Solon State Bank and Bridge Community Bank will continue to have accounts set up for donations as well.
Over the past week the group has been placing flyers around Solon to mark the progress of money raised so that the community can see the progress being made together. Cartons and calendars have been dispersed throughout the elementary school and churches that can be filled out for the month to remind people of the project and progress being made.
If you would like to join or want more information about meetings, please contact Todd Hauser at 319-624-3006. If you would like to volunteer your time, you can contact Ashley with Habitat for Humanity at 319-337-8949 or firstname.lastname@example.org. She will be representing the community and will handle all of the volunteer information. As this is Solon’s first Habitat for Humanity house the group is looking forward to the support and progress of the community to make this project a reality.
