Shirley Gilbert

Shirley F. Gilbert, 64, of Solon, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Memorial services were held March 11 at the Iowa City First Assembly of God Church. Burial will take place at a later date in Indiana. A memorial fund has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web at www.gaycandciha.com.
Shirley was born Oct. 29, 1948, in Iowa City. She married Terry Gilbert on March 1, 1986, in Goshen, Ind., where they resided for many years. Shirley moved to the area last fall to be near her one son and his family.
Her family includes her two sons, Brad Drollinger of Madison, Wis.; and Brent (Jacey) Drollinger of Tipton; three grandchildren, Zach, Christian, and Rachel Drollinger; her siblings, Katie (Chester) Miller of Central City, Helen Coblentz of Tiffin, Arlene (Jim) Schreiberof Riverside, and Everett Coblentz of Iowa City; her step-mother, Gerri Coblentz of Tiffin; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Herman and Mary Edna (Borntrager) Yutzy; brothers, Amos, Danny, Ralph, DeWayne and Lloyd Coblentz; sisters, Viola Coblentz, Esther Coblentz, Mary Ellen Madden and Dorothy Vesely; and her husband, Terry Gilbert.
