Augustine Wyatt “Gus” Koch, five-week old son of Gregory and Heather (Kidwell) Koch of rural Riverside died Thursday, January 8, 2009, at their home from complications since his birth. Those who remain to mourn his passing and celebrate his birth into eternal life include his parents, Greg and Heather; grandparents Kevin and Carol Kidwell of Solon, Mary Koch of Potosi, Mo., and Gary Koch of St. Louis, Mo.; great-grandparents Byron and Dorothy Sweeting of Riverside, Dorothy Kidwell of Iowa City, and Judy Kidwell of Iowa City; great-great-grandmother Marjorie Cavanaugh of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Gus was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Bill Kidwell of Iowa City; Frank W. and Ruth Meyers of Potosi, Mo., and Matthew “Boots” and Clarice Koch of Cadet, Mo.
Visitation for Augustine began at 5 p.m. and ended with recitation of the Rosary at 8 p.m. Monday, January 12, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. A Traditional Latin Mass of the Angels was held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at the Sts. Peter & Paul Historical Church in rural Solon. Burial followed at the Mt.
