“The Summer Reading Program is still going really well,” Jen Leveck, Youth Services Librarian reported again this week. “The T-shirts are going fast as patrons complete the T-shirt challenge activity sheet.” To be assured of receiving a T-shirt, complete those challenges and get the sheets turned in.
Coming up in Week 4, Tuesday, June 21, at 10:30 a.m., Around the World Storytime will be “Going On A Trip” as Miss Jen presents stories and an accompanying craft about all the excitement, anticipation and preparation for taking a trip. Teens On Tuesdays @ 2 will be themed “A Visit To Asia” and teens can create their own unique sushi using candy, write fortunes for fortune cookies and other activities to celebrate Asian culture. Tuesday’s Family Night program will pack the house with Creations With A Twist. Balloon artist, Daniel Poe will bring his own unique style of storytelling. His stage show, “Have Books- Will Travel” involves balloons, stories and LOTS of audience participation. This show is geared for kindergarten through fifth grade but all ages are welcome. On Wednesday, June 22, at 1:30 p.m., the Afternoon Adventurers will continue the “One World, Many Stories” theme by creating their own postcards.
With two weeks left in the programming and three weeks left to read for prizes, there is still time to get on board, log some reading time and enter into the grand prize drawings. The last day to turn in reading logs and enter the drawings is July 22.
