IOWA CITY– Terrence Neuzil, member of the Johnson County Board of Supervisors, will hold his “Government and You” listening posts in August at several locations throughout the county. The listening posts provide residents an opportunity to discuss local, state and national government issues in an informal setting. Each month during the listening posts, citizens also can learn and discuss a hot and emerging issue that Johnson County is facing. In August, the hot topics discussion will be on wind energy farms, the potential use and allowance of wind turbines in Johnson County, and new ordinances and requirements. PNE Wind, a German-based company, is exploring placing as many as 20 wind turbines in northern Johnson County. Residents interested in learning more about the issue are encouraged to attend.

• Wednesday, August 24, 11:30 a.m. at Mekong Restaurant, 5 Sturgis Corner Dr., Iowa City.
• Wednesday, August 31, 12 p.m. at the Iowa City– Johnson County Senior Center, 28 South Linn St., Iowa City; front lobby/dining area.
