Leta L. Miller, 87, of Wellman, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at home. Funeral services were held at Saturday, Nov. 27, at Upper Deer Creek Mennonite Church in rural Wellman. Pastor Elmer Miller officiated. Burial was held in Upper Deer Creek Cemetery.
Leta L. Miller was born June 24, 1924, near Kalona, the daughter of Manas and Lydia (Miller) Brenneman. She attended Prairie Dale rural school. In her youth she accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized. On Feb. 6, 1944, she was united in marriage to Paul W. Miller at the Fairview Mennonite Church in rural Kalona. They made their home in rural Wellman where Leta was a homemaker. She was a member of the Upper Deer Creek Mennonite Church and she volunteered at the Crowded Closet. Local survivors include her daughter Karen (Larry) Kahler of North Liberty. A memorial fund has been established for Upper Deer Creek Mennonite Church and Iowa City Hospice.
