SOLON– The Solon Parks and Recreation Department is offering a day-time Tai Chi class for adults, specifically designed for seniors. The six-week class will be held beginning Feb. 23 on Thursdays from 11 until 11:45 a.m. at the Solon Public Library. The class will emphasize improving balance and coordination. This is a relaxing class with gentle exercises appropriate for all ages. Tai Chi is a soft martial art that focuses on body awareness, coordination, balance and control of movement. The class will consist of deep breathing exercises, a seated warm up and some standing exercises. The standing exercises are performed next to a chair if participants need something for balance.
