Wilma Lois Inscho was born Sept. 7, 1927, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Elza Lloyd and Anna Mary (Hoffman) Inscho. Following graduation from high school she attended Northwest Missouri State University. She was united in marriage to Norbert Meyer on Aug. 16, 1948, in St. Joseph, Mo. The couple moved to Iowa City where they raised their family. Lois worked for ACT and she was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, God’s Helping Hands, and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church.
Lois and Norb raised 10 children in a loving home that some referred to as organized chaos. To her family, Lois was the fairest, kindest, most gracious and patient lady that you could ever know. She was small but mighty. She always made each of her children feel they were her favorite, and as the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, they were the favorites, too. She always had nothing but good to say about others, and was most proud of her family. She so loved being Mom.
Her family includes her husband, Norbert; their children, Nancy (Gary) Tomas of Solon, Michael (Virginia) Meyer Lone Tree, David (Michelle) Meyer of Reston, Va., Bruce (Diane) Meyer of Marion, Janet Mahon of Solon, Mark Meyer of Marion, Brian (Kathy) Meyer of Iowa City, Linda (Ed Teagle) Meyer of Iowa City, Sandy (Eric) Donielson of West Des Moines, and Susan (Douglas) Godwin of Ankeny; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Vincent Derks, Mary Ann Meyer, and Katie Inscho.
